Abele, Charlene
All original atwork framed.
All the experiences in Charlene Abele’s life have evolved and crystallized, helping to give her paintings a beautiful, textured impressionistic style in oils or acrylics that captures the beauty and activities of
Maryland’s eastern shore.
Charlene’s early childhood life in
Maryland’s horse country led her to eat, sleep and dream of horses as well as work with them. This soon manifested itself into art at an early age and through junior high school in
Maryland her interests and school activities centered around horses and art. When her family moved to
Colorado she continued her art interests and for 10 ears was exposed to the natural, wilder beauty of that area.
When moving back to
Maryland married and with a child she continued with her art, then showing itself in pen and ink sketches.
Charlene’s art work became inactive while working and raising a child; however in 1992 following her husband’s retirement, they moved to Ocean Pines, Maryland, where the beauty of the area inspired her to revive her art career with yet another perspective to draw on.
Her artwork of eastern shore landscapes activities and wildlife has evolved from realistic oils and acrylics using brushes, to a more emotionally satisfying impressionistic, three dimensional textured style using painting knives.
Her art of the barrier islands, estuaries, wetlands, waterfowl, wild horses, harbours, watermen’s ships and nautical activities have very appealing colors, textures and emotional appeal.
Charlene’s work is or has been shown in galleries and art organizations where she has won numerous awards and prizes.
