Elias, Lorraine Petyo
All original artwork framed.
Lorraine
Petyo Elias’ artistic interest began at a very early age, and was developed
through Famous Artists’ Correspondence School, private lessons with Nicholas
Cortiglia and Alice Jenkins, workshops, A. A. S. in Commercial Art from L. C.
C. C. and self taught watercolor painting. She has done freelance commercial art commissions including
fashion illustration.
After
a 30 year corporate career, she retired from the business world and is a full
time artist. Most of her paintings
consist of water themed landscapes, but more recently she is pursuing
figurative work as well. Nostalgic lake scenes near her home provide
inspiration, and the enriching experiences of world travel and an appreciation
for nature are reflected in her work.
She
exhibits in juried shows and has won numerous awards. The Times Leader featured her as “Artist of the Week”. Lorraine is a member of the
Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Wyoming Valley Art League and Art and
Environment of All Saints Church.
