          James R. Huntsberger, a longtime resident of Greenville, Delaware, has painted in oils for many years.  During his career as a Research Fellow with DuPont, time for his art was limited.  Consequently, until recently his paintings have been mainly for his own and a few private collections,  in late 1988, he published his first limited edition prints, and in mid 1989 began selling original oils, which are now in private and corporate collections internationally.  Since then he has been in numerous invited and juried shows each year and has had many one-man shows.

            Thus far his originals have all been oils.  Subject matter is broad including seascapes, beach scenes, landscapes, portraits, still life and historical structures (both interiors and exteriors).  He has experimented with unusual subject matter and abstracts but remains essentially a “realist”.

            James has received many prizes for his oil painting.  He was elected to membership in the Council of Delaware Artists in 1990 and the Philadelphia Sketch Club in 1991.
