McGlynn, W. James
All original artwork framed.
James McGlynn
was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1944, raised in Wilmington, Delaware,
and presently resides in Hockessin, Delaware. His background includes early lessons with noted
illustrator, Frank Schoonover, and later with well-known local artists Bayard
T. Berndt and Frank Delle Donne.
He has a B.A. degree from Belmont Abbey College, located near Charlotte,
North Carolina, and has attended the Haystack Mountain School on Deer Isle,
Maine, The Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and had done
extensive study of art history at the University of Delaware. For the past twenty years, Hardcastles
Gallery presents him as their featured artist.
Primarily,
James is a watercolorist. Each art
piece is thought out primarily as an abstract design, and filled in with color,
detail and realistic definition.
With all of this, one can realize his artwork has a “difference” so
sought after by collectors. James
paintings are in many public, corporate and private collections.
